Here is a sample of what you can see at the Art Center.....................

Wayne doesn't quilt, but this is one of our collaborative pieces. Wayne enjoys making frames, and he was tiring of putting mirror in all of them. We came up with an alternative to mirror....the framed quilt.

Frequently asked questions about the hollow log shelf unit--Variation on a Hollow Log

The top and base separate for moving and set-up.

The top section sits without fasteners on the lower trunk portion. The top is sufficiently heavy which gives good stability. If desired, screws can be used to attach the two pieces together.

The knot, front and center, the upper section is centered with four wood blocks attached to the underside of the large bottom shelf. When moving, avoid using the two upper outside shelves as lifting handles. Always grasp the heavier trunk part. Obviously, 4 hands are better than 2- get help to ease the assembly.

As with all non-manufactured wood products, such as plywood or chipboard, place the unit away from heating and cooling sources, and direct sunlight. The wood will move with changes in humidity and temperature. This is normal. Notice in the photos that the top of the bottom, and the bottom of the top, utilize slotted screws to allow for wood movement.

AMALAND TABLE

In my opinion, this table is one of Wayne's masterpieces from 2017. Made of cherry and birch. Here is a look at the detail of joining the legs to the table top.

Here is another look at the legs. Notice the colorful marks.

Now we will see what he makes in 2018.
